Evelyn + Nick : Summer Date Night Engagement Session | Downtown Sykesville, Maryland Wedding Photographer

Downtown Sykesville is filled with cute shops, boutiques, places to eat, and such a cute place to visit for a perfect summer date night!

I met Evelyn and Nick at the Market Tavern so they could start their Engagement Session off with a nice refreshing couple of cocktails and spend a few minutes relaxing after the work day… They brought their adorable six-month-old pup Quinn with them, who’s absolutely their pride and joy! He is SO cute!! He was a little shy at first, being a little guy with so much going on around him, but quickly warmed up, especially since so many people were coming in and out of the bar, petting him and saying hello along the way. How could they resis that face??

Nick ordered a Moscow Mule and Evelyn decided on a refreshing Mint Mojito!

I also fell in love with Quinn’s leash from Wolfgang Man + Beast!

Evelyn and Nick were so sweet and fun to get to know while we walked around town taking pictures… They were so easy-going and natural which I absolutely loved, not to mention an absolutely beautiful couple!

I loved Evelyn’s floral romper and the way Nick chose to wear sold colors to compliment her. :)

Fun fact: They are both physical therapists!

Quinn was hilarious once he really warmed up and decided to show his little personality… He was trying to walk himself by grabbing the leash!

These two are just adorable… I can’t wait for their wedding next spring at the Gramercy Mansion!

We ended the evening with some ice cream at Norwood’s… Quinn got to taste some for the very first time ever and it was so cute!

I loved Evelyn and Nick’s down-to-earth vibes and natural chemistry they share together… We had such a nice time getting to know each other and enjoying the summer breeze, talking about wedding details, some of our favorite things, and of course, our dogs!

Can’t wait to celebrate with these two and their families and friends next spring!

Thanks to the Market Tavern for having us! :)

Ashley + Eddie : BMore Licks and Patterson Park Engagement Session | Baltimore, Maryland

I love hearing about when couples’ paths cross, but they don’t officially meet until that perfect moment in time when all of the stars align and everything begins to play out as it was all intended to...

Ashley and Eddie both went to Penn State, but didn’t meet until they were both in Baltimore for a New Year’s Eve party. After falling in love and realizing their lives were meant to be spent with each other forever, Eddie proposed on a beach in California, right at sunset… And of course, she said yes… (swoon!)

They currently live out in San Diego but wanted to have their wedding here in Baltimore, as it’s a good central spot for their families and it’s where their relationship officially began… So they’re planning for a September wedding at Cosima! I absolutely love it there and can’t wait to celebrate with them!

So on the day of their Engagement Session, we met at BMore Licks for some ice cream before heading across Eastern Avenue to walk around Patterson Park for the afternoon. The line was long! But so worth the wait.

They each got the same cone, mint chocolate chip with rainbow sprinkles, so they didn’t have to share, they said. Haha! But the cute thing is, they ended up sharing anyway… :)

I love when my couples enter their own little world together and enjoy their time together without even thinking about the camera… They just walked, talked, enjoyed their cones, and had fun!

Spring was just finally settling in, and it was our first nice warm day we’d had yet! It was nice to see the park filling up with families playing, runners running, dogs jumping to catch frisbees, and of course - happy-in-love couples being all cute and sweet and lovey dovey like these two… :)

Their smiles are so genuine and happy… They were so cute and touchy and giggly with one another, I just loved it! It made the shoot so fun and sweet… When you can just FEEL their connection and how real it is… that’s a really special thing.

Can’t wait for this September with these two! Safe flights back to California… next time I see them, they’ll be gettin’ hitched!

John Brown General Store & Butchery Styled Shoot - Elopement Inspiration | Baltimore, Maryland Vendors

I always love anytime I’m able to spend with Laurie and Marlo of fab-ri-kāt, an up and coming wedding and event planning and styling company out of Baltimore. This mother-daughter duo have such an eye for style, color, texture, balance, and can see the overall picture, knowing exactly how to execute!

I’ve always popped into the John Brown’s General Store for a coffee on my way home from the Baltimore area but had never thought to photograph there. Their back room was perfect for the shoot! April from Floriculture Farm in south-central PA just north of the Maryland line has just the kind of style and vibe I love in a florist - whimsical, fun yet elegant, and lots of greenery. The tablescape literally took my breath away when I arrived… Plates and bowls were donated from Baltimore Clayworks, and accented with mustard cloth napkins. If you know me, you know a green and mustard color scheme makes me oh so happy!

What I loved most was the gorgeous cake from Harmony Bakery, a vegan sweet spot in Hampden with the most delicious bites… Lavender was donated from Belvedere Farm, accented on the sides of the delectable creamy icing.

Enjoy a few of my favorites and please give the vendors below a follow! They each worked hard to make this beautiful vision come to life! Huge thanks to Laurie and Marlo for having me to capture their vision in all of it’s beauty… I just love you two!

An excerpt from fab-ri-kāt as written in the article of our shoot featured on Baltimore Weddings:

“The inspiration behind this shoot was a small, sophisticated, elopement style wedding weekend. At [fab-ri-kāt], we are inspired by spaces and believe that beautiful architecture should speak for itself. John Brown General and Butchery does that wonderfully, it is a registered historic building from the 1930’s nestled in Baltimore’s “horse country.” The building immediately inspired French sophistication with its large fireplace, traditional stone work, and rustic farm table. We chose to show a sophisticated welcome reception following a rehearsal dinner for all of the couples that are choosing unique ways to celebrate their wedding weekends.

All of the elements are artisan or vintage to fit the historic rural space. The table-scape includes vintage mustard napkins acquired from an estate sale in Nashville, silverware from the 1950’s made by the Stieff Company, and hand thrown pottery table settings from Baltimore Clayworks. The cake is from Harmony Bakery with the lavender coming from Belvedere Farms.

The entire styled shoot is a representation of tying the past and present, woodlands and indoors, together into this historic building turned butcher shop.” – [fab-ri-kāt] team

The Wohltmann Family : Christmas 2018 - Baltimore, Maryland | Holiday Family Portraits

The best compliment a photographer can receive is a welcome back year after year…. You guys know how much joy photographing these kiddos brings to my heart! Harry and Winston have gotten so big and are just so fun to watch, especially now that they’re talking so much more…

Chrissy’s mom Judy popped in for a few pics with her grandsons too! It’s always good to see miss Jude. :)

Winston reaches to hug his brother so often, and it’s so adorable!

Look at their rosy cheeks…

Next, we bundled up to wheel some magnolia branches around the yard and hang out with mom and dad!

Every year since they were born, we get a shot of them standing on Chrissy and Steve’s feet. It’ll be fun to photograph this shot when they’re 16 and so much taller!

Merry Christmas to this beautiful family! And so much love too. xo

Harry & Winston : A Summer Afternoon with the Twins | Baltimore, Maryland Lifestyle Family Photographer

I’ve been photographing these two little guys since they were in their mommy’s tummy! I love spending time with them and their mama and dad - good family friends of ours whom we’ve known for years… I couldn’t wait to spend the afternoon hanging out with these adorable twin boys doing what they love to do in the summer time!

We started with some perfectly ripe watermelon on the back patio by the pool before they decided it was time for their mommy to set up their bouncy house! :)

It’s no easy task getting this thing together… Chrissy hauled it from the garage, plugged it in, blew it up, all while the boys excitedly repeated “bouncy house!” until it was time to jump in… They were so happy, it was so cute!

Their little laughs are the sweetest and the way they play together is adorable to watch. It’s amazing to me how fast they’ve grown and how much they can say now! They were calling me Kir like their mommy does and interacting so much more which of course melted my heart!

They were ready to get their little swimmies on and go for a dive in the pool. They were the cutest little fishies, loved the water, and jumping in over and over again together. Of course it was adorable…

It started to get chilly so it was time to get out and go inside for dinner! Next time I see them they’ll be even bigger and able to do even more… This is why I love what I do so much because I get to watch as families grow.

Lots of love to the Wohltmann family! What a fun session this was. :)
