Lifestyle Session

Mueller Family : Spring Meadow Station | Upperco, Maryland Family Portrait Session

Katie and Pat scheduled a portrait session with me sometime last year and we kept having to reschedule between unexpected life situations and RAIN! And even though we were finally able to carry out a session successfully and precipitation-free, it literally poured cats and dogs on our way home from the evening of the shoot! We joked that it wouldn’t have been fitting if it hadn’t rained… :)

This sweet little family is so fun to spend time with… They decided to photograph at Spring Meadow Station in Upperco, MD because they go there often for family dates and ice cream! Their little girl, Aubrey, is such a cutie and loves to explore and hang out with mom and dad. She warmed up to me so quickly, and ran to give me a hug right when she got out of her car seat before we got started! It made my heart melt!

We walked around the greenhouse, saw their little collection of animals (bunnies, ducks, llamas, and goats), and finished the evening with some ice cream and a snowball!

It was so much fun and was so nice catching up with Katie and Pat after their wedding last year. Just as we were finishing up, the storm clouds began to roll in and it was time to go home… That evening, Katie texted me saying Aubrey loved picture time with Miss Kirsten and wanted to sing me a song, so apparently began to sing me “Silent Night” as she was going to sleep, hehe.. Again, heart melted! :)

Some of my favorites from the shoot…

Cheers to summer, sweet icy treats, and to the love of a precious little family!

Nash Family : Welcome Baby Bianca | Family Photographer

I have the privilege of photographing this sweet family every year. Often times it's because there's a new addition to the family! With five kids now, Bill and Amanda make parenting look so seamless! I always tell Amanda they need to write a book or start a family blog!

I just love this family... Spending time with these kids brings such joy to my heart. They've known me since they were born and watching them grow and become the precious little people they are has been such a sweet blessing!

When I got there and was setting up for brand new baby Bianca's photos with Amanda, Wesley woke up from his nap and came in to give me a hug. He was excited to take pictures and was hoping we'd be able to go outside at some point! I love when the kids have little ideas for shots... He and I then had a little snack break while Bianca was having her own snack time before her big photo debut...

I seriously can't believe how big he's gotten... He is so sweet and such a thinker! He's so smart for his age and it blows my mind every time. When he was getting dressed for pictures with a nice button-down shirt, he asked me to help him button the wrist buttons so he could look "more handsome", hehe.

Wes wanted to make sure he was able to wear his favorite pair of socks that his Aunt Jessica got him with the scales up the back... SO cute!

Rosie came in from her nap while we were starting to take a few pictures of little miss B. She's such a cutie pie too with so much energy and spunk!

Before their older sisters Dakota and Avery got home from school, we snuggled Bianca up all cozy and warm for her little nap...

When the girls got home, it was time for the whole family to pile up in their favorite spot - mommy and daddy's bed to snuggle before a tickle party!

Each year, I love to tell the kids to end the session by picking out their favorite outfit and posing in whatever feels most like THEM. I just love seeing how they express themselves!

Siiigh, they are just so cute! I always love visiting with them and catching up with Amanda and Bill after we take pictures. We're so blessed to have them as friends!

Watts Family : A Summer Day at Home - Baltimore, Maryland Family Photographer

The Watts family is just adorable and their home is so perfect for photographing with white walls and lots of pops of color! Jess and Bryan have two of the cutest little girls, Ellie and Margot. I had so much fun hanging out with them as they showed me their rooms, favorite books and toys, and spent time giggling and playing with their mommy and daddy. I loved listening to the girls laugh and watch them play together. Margot was super interested in the books on the amazing big bookshelf they have in their little den nook (which I'm obsessed with!) and kept pulling out the ones she wanted to read. Ellie enjoyed making bouquets out of her little toy flowers and telling me which colors were her favorites. It was a hot one that day, so we popped outside for a little book reading in the grass, but it was so warm that we decided to head back inside for some refreshing watermelon and a snack! Enjoy a few of my favorites from this sweet little family's summer session!
