Jordan + Fitz : Spring Wedding at Stone Manor Country Club | Middletown, Maryland

When Jordan initially reached out to me about photographing her wedding, saying she and her fiance Brian (“Fitz”) loved to bar hop, hang out with their lab Ruca, and be part of anything food-related, I was like - yesss! I LOVE them! I knew instantly that our vibes would mesh and was so excited to get to know them and their story!

These two met at the Kent House Irish Pub in Towson, Maryland where Jordan has worked for years… (You may remember their engagement session there!) Her dad actually coached Fitz in Rugby years ago, and they suspect they actually played together when they were little. It’s so cute to picture them both together on the field, unknowing what their futures would hold.

They’re the kind of couple that just wants to kick back and have fun… and don’t take life too seriously. Their friends talk about how amazing they are to road trip with (which was mentioned quite a lot during speeches…) and how genuine, caring, and FUN these two are. They’re smiling all the time, and when they’re together, you can absolutely feel the chemistry between them. Jordan and Fitz are more than just husband and wife.. soul mates.. or “meant to be”. They are truly best friends, and the foundation they’ve created is so strong and will allow them to stand the test of time together as the years go by.

They’re definitely one special couple…

Thunderstorms were scheduled for the wedding day, but the skies cleared that morning and the temperature was at a perfect 72°.

Stone Manor Country Club had just finished brand new renovations on their property, adding on a beautiful brand new ballroom and patio, which are absolutely gorgeous! I was so impressed with how everything turned out. It elevates the space and makes for such a beautiful backdrop for a reception. This was the first time I had seen the new build-out and loved every detail!

Jordan and her bridesmaids (and “bridesbro” Alex!) were getting ready upstairs while the guys hung out in the ballroom where Jordan had surprised Fitz with his drum kit! It had been in storage for years and he hadn’t played in so long, so this was a really fun surprise for him. After a couple beers and some practice, the guys finished getting ready while throwing down on some pizza and beer…

Fitz was still practicing his drum skills after tying his shoes… :)

After hair and makeup, Denise, Jordan’s beautiful mama, helped her step into her gown. Before their First Look, she opened her gift from him - a pair of All Birds! I love this company… they are the most comfortable and long-lasting shoes I’ve ever had and have 3 pairs myself… I love her reaction to them, it was adorable! And of course the sweet words of his note sparked the water works…

Allie of Allison Marie Weddings planned the perfect spot for the First Look, in a pretty little shaded spot which was awesome since we were still working with the mid-day sun. They couldn’t wait to see each other and get the party started!

What’s a First Look without some pretty sweet dance moves??? Ugh I just love them.

We took a stroll around the beautiful property for portraits… And of course, they rocked it…

Jordan you are just so gorgeous!

Ruca arrived for a few pics with her mommy and daddy too!

A three-piece Irish band played during the ceremony processional and omg was that cool… You know the music from the best scene ever in Titanic when Jack and Kate are dancing below deck? That’s what it was like… The music is so beautifully rich, full of texture and story-telling… I loved it and could have listened to it for hours…

I love this shot of their officiant just as people were finding their seats…

Everyone was just so HAPPY and it was incredibly infectious… You couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear…

Jordan’s family stood embracing each other around her grandfather during the ceremony which was so tender and sweet. Their hand-written vows were adorable to listen to, making everyone chuckle and appreciate the bond they have. Jordan kept turning around and smiling, laughing with her family at different parts of the ceremony too. I love how close these two are with their families…

Mr. + Mrs. Fitzpatrick!

Cocktail Hour took place on the patio just outside the beautiful new ballroom… Guinness was served of course, along with an array of whatever you wanted to drink… Many were double-fisting which cracked me up! There was an EPIC Cigar Bar too, with Bacon Bouquets made by Jordan’s aunt - YES you read correctly, flowers made of bacon, a vast selection of cigars, candies, Fireball-soaked cherries dipped in chocolate (which were AMAZING I might add…), cake, treats, and goodies to take home…. It was amazing! Their guests were loving every single element and having the best time! I loved watching Jordan and Fitz mingling with everyone too.

The sky was so beautiful so we snagged a couple shots between sips of stout… :)

Before the reception started, I popped in to photograph the table settings and everything looked so beautiful! Fitz’s mom created all of the garland and flower arrangements for the reception. She did such an amazing job! They looked incredible!

Their First Dance was one of the sweetest ever… They just had FUN together… Jordan and her dad shared a precious dance to the cutest song called Little Potato, and Fitz and his beautiful mama shared a dance for a quick second before stopping the DJ to invite everyone on the dance floor with them to start the party!

Several of their bridal party members gave super sweet and equally hilarious speeches, which made everyone smile, laugh, and learn just a little more about how amazing these two are. I overheard several guests saying to each other just how these two are such “peas in a pod” and “perfect for each other”… :)

The night continued on with dancing, mingling, clinking of glasses, dance floor rugby, and a final drum solo by Fitz accompanied by his brother on guitar…

It was an absolute blast… a perfect day in every way… and I’m so happy to have been part of it.

Life is going to do some pretty amazing things for these two, and I can’t wait to see what those things are for them! They’re so fun to follow along with and I’m thankful to be able to call them friends!

Congratulations to the new Mr. + Mrs. Fitzpatrick… So much love to you both!

Julia & Corey : Winter Cork Factory Hotel Wedding | Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Julia and Corey planned the perfect winter wedding, elegant and timeless yet relaxed and easy going with the perfect hint of Christmas… And the Cork Factory Hotel in Lancaster was such a beautiful backdrop. Julia handmade her invitations and did such an amazing job, I love the rustic stamping and rich color tones… And her gorgeous jewelry and hair pins from BHLDN were stunning accents to her timeless gown. I just love her taste!

While Julia and the girls were starting on hair and makeup, Corey and the guys were getting dressed, hanging out, having a few drinks and trying to figure out how to fold the perfect pocket square, all while bustin out moves to ‘90’s hip hop… I knew from that moment the dance floor would be awesome later that evening… :) They were hilarious and so fun to hang out with while getting ready.

Back in the Bridal Suite, Julia and the girls were equally as fun… So many laughs, stories being told, and even excerpts from an old fortune book. Julia’s my kinda girl with a smile on her face and whiskey in her glass… :)

It was drizzling outside so we snapped a few photos under the canopy before heading to St. Joseph’s down the street to get hitched! These girls are simply gorgeous…

The interior of the church was absolutely breathtaking… The dim lighting during the ceremony gave such an intimate feel, and I loved the arches and rich color tones inside. Julia’s mom, Mary Lynn, walked her down the aisle so proudly, taking in the moment step by step. I’m very close with Mary Lynn so I may have shed a tear or two once those church doors opened… <3

We were happy that the rain stopped in time for a few outdoor portraits before it was time for Cocktail Hour… Julia you are just gorgeous!

Together they have their little son Jack, who was dressed all fresh in his suit for the ceremony, but once it ended, it was PJ’s time! He was snuggling upstairs with a sitter at the hotel during the reception… :) Isn’t he the cutest??

KSP_4959.jpg

The Cork Factory is so cozy and warm with the red brick and dim lighting - the perfect setting for a winter wedding. I loved the Christmas tree decorated with wood cut-out ornaments for everyone to take home with them. :) Their guests mingled and enjoyed the delicious spread of olives, cheese, mini sliders, and signature drinks! And the beautiful ballroom candles were lit and waiting for guests to come sit down for dinner…

Julia had a really sweet dance with her brother after she and Corey’s first dance, and he shared a special song with his mom… And the speeches from their besties were so funny and had everyone laughing. The dance floor was an absolute blast and I loved watching everyone have fun!

Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs! I loved being part of your day and wish you nothing but the absolute best!

John Brown General Store & Butchery Styled Shoot - Elopement Inspiration | Baltimore, Maryland Vendors

I always love anytime I’m able to spend with Laurie and Marlo of fab-ri-kāt, an up and coming wedding and event planning and styling company out of Baltimore. This mother-daughter duo have such an eye for style, color, texture, balance, and can see the overall picture, knowing exactly how to execute!

I’ve always popped into the John Brown’s General Store for a coffee on my way home from the Baltimore area but had never thought to photograph there. Their back room was perfect for the shoot! April from Floriculture Farm in south-central PA just north of the Maryland line has just the kind of style and vibe I love in a florist - whimsical, fun yet elegant, and lots of greenery. The tablescape literally took my breath away when I arrived… Plates and bowls were donated from Baltimore Clayworks, and accented with mustard cloth napkins. If you know me, you know a green and mustard color scheme makes me oh so happy!

What I loved most was the gorgeous cake from Harmony Bakery, a vegan sweet spot in Hampden with the most delicious bites… Lavender was donated from Belvedere Farm, accented on the sides of the delectable creamy icing.

Enjoy a few of my favorites and please give the vendors below a follow! They each worked hard to make this beautiful vision come to life! Huge thanks to Laurie and Marlo for having me to capture their vision in all of it’s beauty… I just love you two!

An excerpt from fab-ri-kāt as written in the article of our shoot featured on Baltimore Weddings:

“The inspiration behind this shoot was a small, sophisticated, elopement style wedding weekend. At [fab-ri-kāt], we are inspired by spaces and believe that beautiful architecture should speak for itself. John Brown General and Butchery does that wonderfully, it is a registered historic building from the 1930’s nestled in Baltimore’s “horse country.” The building immediately inspired French sophistication with its large fireplace, traditional stone work, and rustic farm table. We chose to show a sophisticated welcome reception following a rehearsal dinner for all of the couples that are choosing unique ways to celebrate their wedding weekends.

All of the elements are artisan or vintage to fit the historic rural space. The table-scape includes vintage mustard napkins acquired from an estate sale in Nashville, silverware from the 1950’s made by the Stieff Company, and hand thrown pottery table settings from Baltimore Clayworks. The cake is from Harmony Bakery with the lavender coming from Belvedere Farms.

The entire styled shoot is a representation of tying the past and present, woodlands and indoors, together into this historic building turned butcher shop.” – [fab-ri-kāt] team

Jessica & Jeff : Fall Wedding at Musket Ridge | Frederick, Maryland

Jessica and Jeff got married at Musket Ridge, just outside of Frederick, Maryland on a beautiful October day, kicking off fall wedding season! The sun was shining and the weather was absolutely perfect! Jess planned everything so perfectly and we were right on schedule all throughout the day. I loved her beautiful Enaura dress from Betsy Robinson’s Bridal, it was perfect for her!

Their First Look was so sweet, they read letters that they’d written to each other back-to-back and then turned around to see each other for the first time. They’ve been together for over a decade so they were so ready and excited to get married. Their ceremony was so sweet and afterwards, we photographed a few portraits around the grounds during the perfect golden hour sunlight.

These guests were ready to dance! After introductions and speeches, there was hardly any room to move on the dance floor, just about every single guest was out there! It was such a blast…

I loved photographing for these two! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their special day!

Kate & Allan : Classic Cocktail Hour Inspired Wedding - Mt. Washington Tavern | Baltimore, Maryland

Kate and Allan wanted their wedding day to feel incredibly relaxed and laid-back, just like a Cocktail Hour where their guests could mingle and talk to whoever they wanted, eat and drink whatever they wanted, and have the overall feel of a bar/restaurant party rather than a structured wedding reception. I was completely in love with the idea when they were describing their vision to me because I’m all about a down-to-earth and easy-going vibe, especially at a wedding! :)

Combined with the non-traditional factors of their reception were more classic and timeless elements like Kate’s jewelry. Her dress was from BHLDN and was absolutely perfect for her, especially with that bold red lip! Kristen Floyd did her makeup and was so incredibly talented. She also attended the reception and was there for touch-ups whenever Kate needed them!

Kate is part of a group of 5 special girlfriends who have all been close for years. I’ve photographed 2 of their weddings (Danielle and Ed’s & Katie and Kory’s!), now 3 which is special for me! They are all gorgeous, sweet, giving, and so supportive of each other and it’s so cool to witness. They call their little group “the gals” and had tanks made up with the show “Friends” font that said “Gals”, which were so cute.

So I arrived to the Hotel Monaco in Baltimore as the girls were getting ready… It was so fun to walk in and hug everyone - I felt like it was a little reunion! :)

Kate and Allan wrote letters to each other, so after she was in her dress, Kate opened hers…

Allan was a few doors down getting ready with his son Aiden, who is so adorable and mature for his age. He was excited to be part of the day and help his dad get ready to see Kate, who also had written a letter to Aiden.

Allan really wanted to have their First Look on the beautiful white marble steps in the foyer. There was another wedding going on who were using the stairs for some portraits, but just before it was time for Allan to see Kate, it looked like the stairs cleared up so we took advantage of the wide open opportunity! I’m so glad we did because I love these images… I had Danielle with my second camera over on the adjacent staircase to capture Kate as she walked down to see her groom. Danielle killed it!

We took a few portraits around the hotel before it was time to head to Mt. Washington Tavern for the ceremony!

I love the Mt. Washington Tavern. Their food is so good, it’s in such a cool part of the Baltimore area, and had the perfect vibe they were going for.

Their ceremony was beautiful. I loved the Pimlico Room where it was held, with all of the greenery, cream colored walls, gold accents, and neutral tones. Kate and Allan wrote their own vows which made everyone tear up… it was such a beautiful moment!

Then it was party time! We popped outside for some portraits but their guests headed to the bar, and to all of the various food stations including a taco bar, burger bar, and a mac & cheese bar!

We had so much fun outside walking around the streets surrounding the Tavern. Kate got #thejustmarriedjacket from Copper Stone Co. for a few photos! It’s when you borrow the jacket for wedding day pics in exchange for a bottle of wine! Such a fun concept that’s now here in Baltimore!

They’re so sweet and fun, I can hardly stand it! We headed inside to enjoy the rest of the reception… I loved watching everyone have fun and enjoy just hanging out! The one traditional part of their ceremony was the cake cutting - adorable of course!

I love to try and always get a group shot with my couples. :) What an awesome day this was… I was so happy to be part of it! Best wishes to Kate and Allan, lots of love to the two of you and thank you so much for giving me the privilege of documenting these memories for you both!
