Jamie + Andrew : Sweet Hometown Wedding | Manchester, Maryland

Tyler’s been friends with Jamie for years! So when she called me saying she and Andrew were planning a wedding in a week, asking if I was free to photograph it for them, I was so excited that I was available!

Tyler and I had planned our wedding in the same fashion, so capturing this wedding felt near and dear to my heart. We know what it’s like to plan and design everything in a matter of days, bringing it all together just in time, while trying to make sure all bases are covered.

Jamie and Andrew planned everything so perfectly, from the beautiful tan linens, sweet eucalyptus and goldenrod bouquets, to the geometric arbor Andrew handmade for their ceremony. It was all so sweet and special… And Jamie’s dress from Free People came just in time too, everything came together so well. Our high school friend Nick married them, and all of their closest family were present to witness and celebrate with them.

The day took place at Jamie’s childhood home, against a beautiful rustic cornfield in perfectly cozy, overcast, “whisper-of-autumn” weather.

My favorite part of the day was watching as Jamie got ready with her mom, grandmother, and her dad’s twin sister. They were a hoot! The dress was so perfect for her, was the perfect length, and fit so well… She looked absolutely beautiful and radiant in it!

Meanwhile, Nick was talking with Andrew about how special it was for him to be able to officiate their wedding, saying that being a groomsmen in someone’s wedding would be nice, but officiating is a whole other level of special. His super sweet wife Toby was there with him too. :)

Jamie’s dad helped Andrew with his boutonniere, which we later decided to place on his jacket instead. Shortly after the rest of their family arrived, it was showtime!

Their ceremony was precious… Nick greeted Andrew with a fist bump just before Jamie and her dad came down the aisle… There was laughter, of course, and so much joy on everyone’s faces!

Portraits were fun because everyone who was present was included, so it felt like one big cocktail hour/portrait session, which I loved! Photos with a side of a cold beer or two? Yes please!

I believe Jamie said her wedding band was her great-grandmother’s… And her bracelet was from a friend. I loved the whole vibe she had… so effortless, natural, and so her!

Her grandmother was cracking me up.. She said it was the first time she’d worn a dress in 25 years! And she was jokingly complaining about having to wear stockings, hehe. She was a trip! Such a sweet, fun set of families… I loved getting to spend time with everyone!

This wedding was special to me because it reminded me so much of my own. These 2020 weddings have been so sweet and just plain lovely to document in all of their intimate simplicity.. I am just loving them!

Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs… Much love to you guys! I know life will take you on one big amazing adventure together!
