Rachel + Tim : Back Porch Wedding + Patterson Park Picnic Reception | Baltimore, Maryland

Like most 2020 couples, Rachel and Tim had to make some adjustments when their wedding venue implemented restrictions on guest count and other things.. So they decided to scale back and host their closest friends and family for a little ceremony on their back porch, with a Patterson Park picnic to follow! It was such an adorable day, with so many personal touches. Rachel and Tim are so others-centered, and just wanted their guests to have a memorable, comfortable, sweet time.

While their guests waited outside just right outside Rachel’s window, her sweet mama helped her dress into her gorgeous gown before it was time to walk “out the back door” and onto the porch to make it official… :) Her smile is so genuine and radiant and I just love her calm and easy-going spirit… AND that forest green wall, especially against the exposed brick… sa-wooon… <33

Tim was waiting for her sweetly, at the bottom of the stairs… When he saw her, all of the emotion hit him and he began to cry, it was such a tender and special, unexpected moment.

Their ceremony was so personal, led by their friend Hunter, and live-streaming for all who were unable to be there, to still be part of the ceremony. Their friends and family spread out on their back alley lot and watched as they said their vows and exchanged rings…

Marcie Lenick of Celebrating Love by Marcie created wildflower-inspired floral pieces for the corners of the porch, along with Rae’s bouquet, which I saw and nearly fainted from out of having all the *heart eyes*… It was made up of all my favorite colors and tones, including those perfect little yellow “Billy Balls” (Craspedia flowers), and was just so whimsical and perfect for the time of year too, when fall is just a second away but the warmth of the summer is still upon us.

Rings? Sh*t, they’re inside on the kitchen counter… Haha…

SO cute and sweet…

Afterwards, we took a few portraits of course (especially with their kitty, Stella), before heading to the park for the rest of the evening.

Everyone made their way down the street to Patterson Park, where Rachel and Tim had set up tables of homemade food and desserts, wine and drinks, a picnic blanket (that she had quilted and made… she’s amazing), balloons, and chairs for everyone to enjoy. It was so cute! They’d made roasted vegetables, orzo salad, and focaccia bread for everyone, as well as their tiramisu to cut together later, and served catered sandwiches, crab cakes, and more… All was divine and delish…

Rae’s father gave a special speech, and said, “every time I cry, just take a drink!” I imagine most everyone had a nice little buzz going after he was finished… :)

Becca and Matt (2015 couple) and Becca and Tim (soon-to-be 2020 couple) were there to celebrate, so we had to get a group pic together! And how stunning is Rachel’s ring… It’s a gray diamond in an “east to west” setting.

It was so nice to spend time with everyone… Having these small, intimate wedding parties makes the vibe feel so quaint and sweet, and I’ve gotta say, I really love it. I have time to get to know everyone so much more, and the couples really seem to be more relaxed and I think it’s just so great. I loved having a little rosé and talking with everyone, really feeling more like part of the family than a vendor, which makes my heart so happy.

How adorable are their “I do, me too” forks… And that tiramisu, if I wasn’t dairy-free I would have gotten away with at least one piece… :)

And to top it all off, we get to do this again next year on their reschedule date! Can’t wait to be with everyone again! :)

Lots of love to Rachel and Tim, you guys are epic… Thank you for everything, I have loved getting to know you both and having a small part in your special memories. <3
