Mr. & Mrs. Portraits

Even if we photograph a First Look, it’s important to take a few minutes after the ceremony for some portraits now that you’re “official”! :) We’ll keep it simple and natural and take a little walk around the venue and make sweet little moments happen in pretty light! A good time for these portraits is after you’ve finished eating and your guests are finishing up, or right as the DJ announces an open dance floor. It all depends on what the light looks like outside! I promise it won’t take long and we’ll get right back in to join the party!

Tips

  • Just be yourselves in every way! In your mannerisms, facial expressions, and actions. If you don’t, you’ll look back at the images and see someone else rather than the person you are. Take a breath, relax, and just be together. I’ll guide you through the motions a bit but I really just want you to immerse yourselves in this time - you just got married!

  • This sounds strange, but try not to turn your heads much when you kiss. It looks much better on camera when you’re kissing pretty head-on if that makes sense. When your heads are tilted, the camera either sees all top of head of side of neck, both with random noses sticking out and it isn’t as flattering.

  • Try and stay as present as possible and don’t think about whether or not we are running out of time, how the reception will go, if your guests are enjoying themselves, or anything else that doesn’t have to do with the two of you. It’s hard because wedding days are packed with so many elements to think about, but these few minutes are meant for focusing on each other.

Time Allotment: 15-30 minutes, depending on if we did portraits after a First Look

Note: These portraits can also be taken after you’ve eaten while your guests finish their dinners.
