Hi, I’m Kirsten —
pronounced Keer-stin :)
I’m an introvert by nature with a bigtime heart for connecting with others, and welcome deep conversation over small talk any day. I love to keep life simplified, easygoing, and decluttered, aligning with nature’s cyclical patterns of the seasons to stay present and grounded. I believe in the practice of slow, intentional living, staying mindful, grateful, and present. I love deeply, live naturally, think freely, and believe spiritually, and try to make the gift of each day count to the fullest extent that it can.
I love traveling to new places and experiencing a sense of adventure, especially small towns and cities where the characteristics and significance of its history stand out. I enjoy quilting and crochet, taking care of our plants, and creating in the kitchen… and am always reading and learning about something related to personality/relationship, natural wellness, our faith, or lessons in personal development. And when I feel like zoning out on the tv, I flip to something light, aesthetically pleasing, or culinary related like The Lost Kitchen or Beat Bobby Flay.
My husband Tyler and I live in a little pink house with our canine bestie, Baxter. We both enjoy all things sensory like source-to-table food, great live music, travel adventures, and creative expression. On the weekends you can find us at the local farmer’s market, hunting for vintage treasures, or spending time resting and enjoying our sacred haven of home. And during the off-season, you can find often us lounging somewhere along the seashore.
My love of photography has always been at the forefront of my interests since I was little. Pretending to take pictures around the house with my parent’s old Pentax, I envisioned myself to be a real photographer, with an early captivation by the click of the shutter and the art of focus. Days our rolls of film would come back from the developer in the mail made the afternoon feel like Christmas morning, and it brought me so much exhilaration to see our recent memories in printed form.
I got my very first camera when I was about 8 years old and ever since then, I’ve never not been that person who’s just always taking pictures… I can’t help it, it’s an engrained part of me that will never go away. I love the way that the combination of light exposure and sensitivity of film allows me to hold onto the way I see beauty in this life in such a tangible way. There’s such a special magic in creating photographs, whether they’re for myself or someone I care about. I find it so completely mesmerizing, romantic, and lifegiving, and will forever be attached to this art form, no matter where life takes me.
After 14 years in business, I find myself misty-eyed at the connections, opportunities, and relationships I’ve been blessed with. The people and their stories, their openness, honesty, and trust are what allow me the honor and privilege of acting upon this calling. I don’t think they realize how much their support keeps me going. It’s something I’ll never ever take for granted.
