STYLE + APPROACH
Creative Inspiration
I capture images in a sensitive, intentional, and casual sort of way, in pretty straight-forward style with a modern, artistic flair. I look for inspiration in what is happening around me, always smitten by contrast of light, movement, emotional expression, dreamy colors, interesting textures, and anything related to sentimental tradition. What gives me creative influence is unique to each story I’m capturing, absorbing whatever I’m witnessing with all my senses, taking each element in as a medium for my creative capture.
Client Collaboration
It’s important to me that my clients feel seen and understood for who they are and what they wish for without being made to feel as though they need to reach beyond their personality or natural instinct. I listen to what their creative vision is and work with them to curate an overall intention for the images, digging deep into the emotion, details, and implementation behind the result we’re going for. Creating space for effortless ease and comfortable interaction is so important to me in order for the experience to be memorable and successful.
From Behind the Lens
I don’t like to overcomplicate things and appreciate keeping the vibes laid back and simple without sacrificing quality, authenticity, or intentionality. The goal is for me to try and be as unobtrusive as possible, while still capturing the essential theme of each moment. And sometimes structured posing and direction is necessary of course, so I’ll offer a bit of guidance and encouragement when needed. It’s common and understandable to feel uneasy knowing your picture is being taken, so I like to create a natural, personal experience so they feel as comfortable as possible and can just relax and be themselves.
Editing Style
I gently and lightly enhance each image without over-alteration, keeping the colors and tones as true to life as possible. I do not photoshop or retouch my images (other than a pesky blemish, distracting lint, or something of the like) because I believe in capturing what I see before in it’s truest form, and that every subject is beautiful in its authentic entirety.
