USB DRIVE CARE

  1. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures + moisture.

  2. Choose the “safely remove” option on your computer when removing the drive after you’re finished browsing the images.

  3. Keep the cap on when you’re not using it, and store in in its protective box for safe keeping.

  4. NEVER “format” your USB drive, or all photos will be lost.

how to care for your photographs

  1. When your USB arrives, carefully plug it into your computer and make sure your images load successfully.

  2. COPY (not “cut”) + PASTE your images from the USB to a special file folder on your computer and/or external hard drive for safe keeping.

  3. Consider backing up your images onto a drive to also keep in a fire-proof box and/or safety deposit box.

  4. Regularly ensure your photos are backed up successfully and reliably in multiple places/forms, just in case your computer or drives crash, or something else happens to them.

  5. PRINT YOUR IMAGES! They shouldn’t live in digital form forever, so make sure you make long-lasting quality prints of your favorites.
