Kelsey + Jeff | Wisteria Cottage + Barn Wedding

Kelsey and I met years ago while she was doing hair for one of my brides… She’s so sweet, she said ever since then, she wanted me to photograph her wedding one day! The day had finally arrived and was a decade in the making. :)

I’d never been to Wisteria Cottage yet but was really looking forward to it. The beautiful stone farmhouse is tucked into the trees just off of Lineboro Rd., only a few miles from where my husband and I both grew up. So it felt special to photograph in my hometown and be so close to my roots in that way. :)

After I parked, I took a while to walk around and explore the property and check out all of the whimsy… The wisteria was in full bloom out on the back porch of the house, as was the honeysuckle, peonies, and more. The barn, where the reception was being set up for, had an adorable teal silo and cute tables with umbrellas ready for Cocktail Hour.

Kelsey and her girls were getting hair and makeup done upstairs in the beautiful space (with fresh white walls, love!) with lots of windows, and even the original stenciling on the walls. There’s so much character to the house which makes it feel authentic and special. :)

Kelsey looked absolutely stunning, especially when she stepped into her gown, which was so “her” to me… Elegant and simple, with a fun fairytale flair, which is just how the rest of the day felt too.

Jeff gifted his beautiful, sweet mama a necklace before it was time for him to get ready. I loved this moment…

Cathy was just so happy for her son and so full of sweet joy throughout the day… I just love her smile!

Jeff looked so handsome and dapper in his green (awesome) suit and floral tie. I loved the combination! These guys were a blast to work with. They were so chill and nice, and genuinely had fun having their photos taken. :)

Their ceremony was short and sweet, with a few photos afterwards, so they could get right to Cocktail Hour and party with their guests! I loved the wide open grassy meadow where they had their ceremony, and just a short walk from there was the barn where the rest of the night carried on… :)

There were so many fun elements to the night, like the shoe game, special parent dances, where Kelsey and her Dad enjoyed a cheers of beer together while dancing :), and an absolutely epic dance floor… These people were ready to party! I could tell as I was looking out at everyone arriving and finding their seats for the ceremony that this group was going to be rowdy in the best way possible, and I was right! I couldn’t wait for the dance floor to open, and didn’t want the night to end… It was so fun to watch everyone have the best time and just dance and let loose!

Kelsey and Jeff are so sweet and kind, easy-going, and fun… I couldn’t stop smiling because of the happiness and positive energy that shined so brightly from their day. Wishing them nothing but the best! Such a beautiful day in every way. :)
