Meghan + Alex | Springtime Garden Wedding at Antrim 1844 - Taneytown, Maryland

It was a little drizzly when I arrived to Antrim that early afternoon, but I knew it would stop just in time for Meghan and Alex’s ceremony outside in the garden… Per usual, I spent the first half-hour or so just meandering around the grounds and letting the inspiration for the day settle in. The sky was overcast and there were cute little droplets on the flowers… The garden was starting to bloom and little pops of color were popping up wherever I seemed to look.

Everyone was so darn chill, I loved it! Just hanging out and leisurely getting ready, having a couple drinks, and enjoying a slow pace before “go time”. The girls, along with Alex’s precious little niece, got ready upstairs in the main mansion, and the guys were in the barn, behind the tennis courts… Meg’s sweet sister and mom helped her get ready before it was time for her First Look with her dad, before seeing Alex.

^ On a very personal note, Alex’s mom passed away when he was very young… In honor of her and as a special gift to Alex, Meghan had a handkerchief made for him out of a piece of lace from his mom’s wedding dress, with a message on the back in her handwriting… She was waiting to give it to him during their First Look.

He was waiting for her, with Atlas, their adorable puppy, by his side…

Meg’s sister Ryan carried her train for her through the garden so she could see Alex.. Their First Look had all of us, two photographers, two videographers, and Ryan, all in tears… It started with “damn babe!” vibes and then into a more soft and tender moment when Meg gave him the kerchief…

Their ceremony was so fun and sweet because they wrote their own vows which made us all both laugh out loud and cry some more… <3 I always love to the looks of pride and joy in the family members’ faces during the ceremony… Meg and Alex must have felt so loved, supported, and celebrated, standing up there with all of their siblings and closest friends.

Cocktail Hour! My favorite… I always love to see what’s being served, what guests are itchin’ for to kick the night off, and listen to everyone mingle together, catch up, or meet for the first time…

We got some “just married” portraits before joining Cocktail Hour and heading into the tent for dinner… Meg and Alex were so easy breezy and cute, just being themselves together and enjoying every second of the day.

The new Mr. + Mrs.!!! Loved their sweet first dance… followed by incredibly special speeches.

While no one was looking, the Taharka Brothers showed up! They have such amazing ice cream and always come with toppings… Once people began to show up under the tent with ice cream cones and word started to get out, the line got longer out there!

Their dance floor was SO fun… Meg’s brother ended the night playing drums with the band which was awesome! He was super talented and everyone loved watching him!

This is a day I’ll never forget… I loved how family-oriented, caring, down-to-earth, and carefree everyone was. They were just cool and calm and excited to just celebrate with everyone they know and love - which is the way it should be!

So much love for these two, and gratitude for being part of this amazing day!
