Jackie and Paul wanted a wedding day that felt low-key and relaxed with a coastal-inspired elegance, and a down-to-earth structure… They couldn’t have pulled it off more perfectly. The vibe of their day reflected them so well. Carolyn of Kari Rider Events worked closely with them to create an overall style and design that was just what they were looking for. Everything was concise and in context with a flow and effortless coastal touch.
It was the most beautiful day in October with the perfect temps, bright blue skies, and the crisp whisper of autumn’s arrival, blowing in the salty air… They each spent time getting ready in cozy little Airbnb rentals, with beautiful natural light. Everything moved at such a comfortable pace so we were all really able to enjoy every moment.
Their adorable pit, Roo, hung out with Paul until it was time for the ceremony. Roo is so special to them, of course, and was featured on the label of Paul’s homemade brewed beer that he created for the wedding day. It was their guests place-cards and favors (and was absolutely delicious, I might add)…
Once Jackie got dressed in her beautiful lace-covered dress and Birdies, she had a precious First Look with her sweet Dad before sharing a glass of Champagne and heading over to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum to see Paul and get the day started!
We spent about an hour together, leisurely photographing their portraits around the Museum by the water until guests began to arrive… It was so nice to have that time with them! The sights and sounds were so relaxing with the sound of the water, the ship bells, and seagulls, against the blue sky, green grass, and beautiful Chesapeake Bay…
Jackie is just so pretty… Her smile is so genuine and her heart is so kind. Paul, too, is such a nice kind-hearted person and together they are such a joy to spend time with. He looked so handsome in his navy suit, as did Roo! :)
I loved Jackie’s bouquet by Monteray Farms!
Their ceremony was personal and sweet.. I loved how it took place right on the water, with their closest friends and family present.
Cocktail Hour was wonderful! Gourmet by the Bay passed the most beautiful hors d’oeuvres and guests mingled, sipped their beverages, enjoying the evening as the sun began to set and the air became just a bit cooler…
We ventured out for a few more portraits before their reception started, which is always a good idea.. I love the soft hues and tones in the scenery and how it compliments the details of their wedding day so well. Everything was just so soft, laid-back, and just lovely…
The Boat House was ready for guests to enter, with oyster shell “place cards”, lit candles, fresh sweet-smelling flowers, and everything in it’s place… This room was completely stunning. I loved the way this rustic historical setting became a cozy, welcoming dining room!
I always try and get a pic with my couples so we grabbed this one before heading inside. :)
Jackie and Paul had their first dance together after entering, followed by a speech from her parents and more dancing! Their meals looked exquisite… like works of art!
Everyone enjoyed the bar and space to move around and spend time together. The dim lighting made it feel so warm and intimate, which I absolutely loved.
After they cut the cake and some time went by… little mini sliders and fries were passed around by the catering staff and they were not only adorable, but also delicious!
The evening ended with a confetti toss exit as we sent them off in their getaway car…
This was such a perfect day and I am so grateful to have been part of it! I’ll never forget this one! :)
